Overview:As the sole audio contributor at River Mobility, I was responsible for building and owning the company's entire sonic presence. This covered everything from YouTube content and ad campaigns to product launch events and physical showroom audio across India. Over 18 months, I designed original music, SFX, and sound across 90+ branded videos, contributing to River's YouTube growth to 100K+ subscribers and a Silver Creator Award.
My role blended hands-on sound design with creative strategy. I worked cross-functionally with branding, marketing, and video teams to turn briefs into cohesive, on-brand sonic outcomes, building a system that could scale across formats, platforms, and regions.Sonic Branding Approach:River needed a sound identity that felt authentic and relatable to local audiences. My approach was rooted in a simple principle: use sounds that belong to the place and the people. Rather than applying a single generic audio style across all content, I built a flexible sonic framework that adapted to regional culture while staying consistent with River's brand personality.
This meant composing with local instruments and musical traditions for regional campaigns, while maintaining shared sonic elements (motifs, energy, texture) that tied everything back to River. The result was a brand that sounded cohesive across 90+ pieces of content but never felt generic.Regional Launch Films:For River's store launches in different cities, I created audio that reflected each location's cultural identity. The Chennai (Anna Nagar) launch film used Tamil Nadu musical elements to give the score regional warmth and authenticity. The Hyderabad launch film incorporated Hyderabadi musical influences for a distinct local feel. In both cases, I handled the full audio chain: composition, sound design, ambient layers, mixing, and mastering.
The goal was simple: when someone from that city watches the video, the sound should feel like home.Showroom Audio & Launch Event:Beyond digital content, I designed the in-store audio experience for River's showrooms across India, creating ambient sound that reflected the brand's identity in a physical retail space. I also handled full audio post-production for River's product launch event, covering sound design, music, mixing, and mastering for both the launch film and the live event itself.
I created the entire audio for the “River is coming” promo video for the Anna Nagar, Chennai store launch. Built the soundscape using local Tamil Nadu music elements to give the score regional authenticity and cultural warmth. Layered in ambient sounds and effects that matched the visuals, then handled the full mix for a crisp and welcoming audio experience.
